Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt has added her weight to a campaign run by a coalition of twenty organisations representing people with long-term health conditions to scrap prescription charges without delay.
Mrs Burt has supported the 'Prescription Promise' campaign by lending his support to the parliamentary motion calling for the Government to end this charge before the next General Election.
The Prime Minister had promised at his Party's Conference last year to abolish prescription charges for people living with long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes, Crohn's disease and arthritis.
Mrs Burt said: "The Government is reviewing this issue, but in the meantime, large numbers of people with long-term conditions are struggling to afford their prescription charges and many are making a difficult and distressing choice not to take vital medication because of the cost.
"The policy is inconsistent with some conditions receiving free prescriptions. This unfair charge on people with long-term conditions should end as soon as possible
