Lembit Öpik and Mick Bates, MP and AM for Montgomeryshire, last Friday (6th November) visited Phoenix Furniture in Newtown to congratulate them on their award for Innovation from Cylch Recycling.
Commenting on the achievement, Lembit Öpik said:
"Phoenix Community Furniture Scheme is another jewel in the crown of Montgomeryshire's rich tradition of sustainability and charity.
"This award is welcome recognition of their skilled work and philanthropy. Well done Phoenix Furniture!"
Mick Bates AM added:
"I am delighted that Phoenix Furniture has won this award, which is testament to the hard work and dedication of all staff and volunteers who help run the organisation.
"Recycling is great but reusing materials is essential to reducing our waste and consumption in the first place. 'One man's junk is another man's treasure'! Many congratulations to all at Phoenix Furniture."
